How to recognize and reward employees is of utmost importance today. Achievers’ think tank, the Achievers Workforce Institute found in its global Workforce Institute 2021 Engagement and Retention Report that 52% of those currently employed intend to leave jobs in 2021 and 46% feel less connected to their employers. Based on Achievers customer success stories, we also know that employees who receive three or more recognitions monthly are six times less likely to leave.
But long gone are the days of one-size-fits-all reward options. The future of work, largely shaped by the impacts of the global pandemic, is now a hybrid experience with on-site, in-office, and remote workplaces — often across a single organization.
Perhaps surprisingly, these complexities in how and where we work have given way to choices. Today’s employee wants (and perhaps even needs) multiple reward options that fit with their work and personal lives.
A collaboration of firsts with Uber for Business
Achievers is proud to be the first fully integrated employee experience platform to collaborate with Uber for Business and offer their vouchers within our global Reward Marketplace. This exciting Reward Marketplace addition is yet another way that Achievers is deepening its commitment to employee engagement for the future of work.
Having foresight to this shift in demand for more flexible and diverse rewards options and operations, Achievers worked with Uber for Business to offer vouchers — redeemable for rides with Uber and meals with Uber Eats. Now a part of the Achievers Marketplace, Vouchers from Uber for Business join a catalog of over 2,500 top brand name gifts available to Achievers members.
Operating for over a decade, The Achievers Reward Marketplace is part of the Achievers Employee Experience Platform™, a connected ecosystem of integrated products that power relevant and agile employee engagement strategies and activate a culture of belonging through daily employee and leadership participation.
Supporting employees = higher business performance. For global organizations, the Achievers Reward Marketplace is a proven employee points-based reward system to motivate, inspire, and make employees feel valued. To employees, it’s a wonderland of reward redemption possibilities — one that just got even better.
The decision to offer Vouchers from Uber for Business was a strategic one. The addition of Vouchers to the Achievers Reward Marketplace will first roll out in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Mexico, with further expansion planned in the future.
“We knew that a large number of employees were experiencing the never-before-seen challenges of balancing their pandemic work lives with the new realities of their home life: being caregivers to family members, supporting school-aged children learning at home, and so on,” said Kristian Gaetano, Achievers Chief Operating Officer. “We also saw a shift in the types of redemptions being made and understood that people were in need of rewards that offered convenience, access, and time savings — and Uber for Business checked all of these boxes.”
A well-known, well-established, and well-loved brand, rides with Uber are supported in 71 countries across 10,000 cities. Similarly, the Uber Eats app is available from over 750,000 restaurants in more than 6,000 cities worldwide. This global presence closely mirrors that of the Achievers Reward Marketplace, which is available in over 150 countries and serves members in 27 languages.
The value of this reward option goes beyond a free trip across town or a free meal. Organizations partnered with Achievers are demonstrating to their teams that they understand the challenges associated with the current state of work and that being able to order-in dinner after a long day of virtual meetings and corralling children makes employees feel known and included — two of the five critical pillars of belonging identified in the Achievers Workforce Institute Culture of Belonging Report.
“A true sense of belonging at work is the deepest outcome measure of engagement — and one of the best predictors of the extent to which one will thrive at work,” said Dr. Natalie Baumgartner, Chief Workforce Scientist at Achievers.
Couple this fact with the understanding that frequent recognition is also a primary driver of engagement which directly impacts performance, and the benefits of Reward Marketplace become clear. Backed by workforce science, this form of strategic recognition and rewards has real-time business impacts. Organizations who integrate the Achievers platform with their flow of work are not only adding value for employees, they are improving business outcomes.
“Hybrid work is the future of work. Even as parts of the world open up and the workforce begins to go into the office, the pandemic has highlighted just how important it will always be to create flexible environments, policies, and perks for employees,” said Susan Anderson, Global Head of Uber for Business. “We know how critical it is to engage with employees, to boost morale, and increase retention – those priorities aren’t going away. That’s why we are proud to work with Achievers to amplify the employee experience and help businesses cultivate a dynamic and lively workplace culture.”
Engaging and accessible
